One Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 49 [Auburn, CA]

Four Vehicles Involved in Fatal Accident near Joeger Road

 
AUBURN, CA (December 6, 2019) – One person died in a multi-car crash on Highway 49 on early Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Joeger Road just after 5:30 PM.
 
Reports showed that a Lexus sedan lost a tire swerved into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a vehicle. Two other cars are involved in the pile-up incident.
 
The Lexus driver ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Two occupants of the second vehicle were trapped but have been freed and transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. However, the occupants of the two other vehicles involved are not injured.
 
Roads closed while rescue, clearing, and an initial investigation took place in the area.
