Deadly Fiery Crash Involving Big Rig on 55th Street East in Palmdale

 
PALMDALE, CA (July 23, 2019) – One person died following a collision on 55th Street and Pearblossom Highway Tuesday morning in Palmdale.
 
The collision happened just after 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of 55th Street East and Pearblossom Highway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig and another vehicle collided, causing one of them to catch fire. One occupant was ejected from the crash.
 
Fire crews responded to the scene and confirmed one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending family notification.
 
A SigAlert was issued in the area, closing the Pearblossom Highway in both directions while crews worked on the scene.
