3 Vehicles Involved in Fatal DUI Crash on Hatch Road in Ceres
CERES, CA (November 16, 2019) – One person died following a suspected DUI crash Saturday morning in Ceres, according to police.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Hatch Road between Mitchell and Moffett roads.
Police said a 2002 black Honda was driving behind a 2008 gray Mazda eastbound on Hatch Road. At the same time, a 1994 Ford Ranger was driving westbound on Hatch Road.
The Mazda and the Honda crashed into the eastbound lanes of Hatch Road. Both vehicles then veered into the westbound lanes, colliding with the driver of the Ford.
As a result, the driver of the Mazda died at the scene, police said.
Both the driver and passenger of the Ford were taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Jose Luis Valdez-Villasenor Jr., suffered major injuries. He is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to police.
Officers closed Hatch Road between Moffet Road and Angie Avenue for more than five hours as police investigated the incident.
