One Dead in Fiery Crash on Highway 41
RIVERDALE, CA (July 1, 2019) – A fiery accident on Highway 41 claimed the life of one person in southern Fresno County on Sunday, June 30.
A Hummer and a Hyundai car crashed just a little after 4 a.m. near Laguna Avenue. The vehicle caught fire with one person trapped inside.
Officers requested the coroner to the scene for one victim. LifeFlight airlifted a 50-year-old man to Community Regional Medical Center.
CHP diverted traffic around the collision, and they shut down Highway 41 in both directions for more than four hours.
CHP officers investigated what caused the crash while Fresno County and Kings County sheriff’s deputies helped them handle the traffic.
Authorities reopened the highway just before 8:30 a.m.
