Police Arrest Julio Navarette and Ilana Summers on Vintage Way DUI Crash
Novato, CA (March 05, 2021) – On Wednesday, a person was injured while police arrested 38-year-old Julio Navarette of Antioch in a DUI crash on Vintage Way.
Officers received the crash report minutes after 8:10 p.m. near Costco.
When officers arrived, they discovered Navarette, the driver, already left the scene on foot while two passengers were left in the vehicle.
Right away, rescuers took a 30-year-old passenger to a hospital for incurring moderate injuries.
Officers arrested the other passenger, 24-year-old Ilana Summers of San Francisco on an outstanding arrest warrant.
Police said Summers allegedly attempted to steal multiple bottles of wine at the BevMo store just before the crash.
Before 8:40 p.m, authorities detained a man whose description matches the suspect driver.
Authorities said they determined the man was Navarette and that the vehicle involved was reported stolen.
Police booked him into the Marin County Jail along with Summers.
Navarette faces charges of DUI causing bodily injury, hit-and-run, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, a parole violation, and conspiracy.
Similarly, Summers faces charges of conspiracy and shoplifting.
It was not known when either suspect would appear in court.
