Pedestrian Dead, Four Others Hurt in Lucerne Valley Rollover Crash
LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (May 7, 2019) — One man died and several others injured after a rollover accident in Lucerne Valley on Saturday, May 4.
The collision happened at about 10:38 p.m. on Highway 18 near Christenson Road.
The female driver of the minivan traveling eastbound passed on Custer Avenue on Highway 18 when the vehicle struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian died on the scene. His name is not yet known, but witnesses described him as a white male adult who looked like to be in his mid-thirties.
After the impact, the driver of the van reportedly lost control and then the vehicle rolled several times.
The driver was thrown off from the vehicle and suffered major injuries. Paramedics airlifted her to a hospital.
Three other people inside the van, including a baby, sustained non-life threatening injuries. Responders brought them to a trauma center.
California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
