1 Detained after Snohomish Car Accident

SNOHOMISH, WA (January 11, 2019) – An alleged car thief was arrested after crashing his vehicle and fleeing from authorities on January 9.

According to Trooper Heather Axtman, a Washington State Patrol trooper saw the driver as being involved in an earlier car jacking in Snohomish. The driver then went inside the car and fled off, leading to a pursuit.

The chase stopped when the driver went off the road, collided into a fence and went out of the vehicle and ran in the 6500 block of 76th Street NE.

Troopers came to the area and used police dogs to the scene to help search for the suspect.

The suspect was later located hiding in a trailer on 64th Street and 61st Avenue, Axtman added. He was taken into custody without incident.
