Olga Margolina Hospitalized After Being Hit by Truck at Northeast 8th Street and 120th Avenue Northeast
BELLEVUE, WA (June 14, 2019) – A truck involved in a two-vehicle crash struck and injured a woman at Northeast 8th Street and 120th Avenue Northeast Wednesday.
According to Bellevue police, the incident befell around 4:15 p.m.
Olga Margolina, 27, was reportedly waiting for the Rapid Ride B Line bus while listening to an audiobook. Meanwhile, a 33-year-old truck driver towing a boat decided to make a left turn into the corner Shell gas station, failing to yield to the right of way.
As a result, an oncoming vehicle slammed into the truck, causing it to jackknife and hit Margolina.
Unfortunately, Margolina suffered a fractured face, multiple scrapes and a broken nose. She informed reporters that the bumper of the truck pinned her against the bench.
At the scene, Bellevue police arrested the 33-year-old truck driver on suspicion of vehicular assault. Impairment does not appear to be a contributing source to the accident.
