Officer Hurt in DUI Accident in Everett
EVERETT, WA (May 15, 2019) – An officer suffered serious injuries in Monday’s DUI traffic accident on the 5 Freeway near 41st Street.
According to Trooper Heather Axtman of the State Patrol, the unidentified officer was seated in his blue Dodge Charger in an attempt to make a traffic stop.
Subsequently, a 72-year-old woman drifted toward the shoulder and struck his vehicle.
The trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the elderly driver ended up in handcuffs after police arrested her on suspicion of DUI.
The 6:16 p.m. crash caused the woman a broken nose in the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
