Patrol Car and Vehicle Collide in Irvine near Yale Avenue
IRVINE, CA (February 10, 2020) — A police officer and a driver were injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on Irvine Center Drive.
Authorities say the collision happened just before midnight. However, the events leading up are currently unclear.
A 25-year-old male officer was heading through the intersection on Irvine Center Drive and Yale Avenue with his lights and sirens on. There, his Ford Explorer patrol-vehicle struck the left side of a northbound Toyota Prius.
As a result of the impact, the officer and 59-year-old male driver of the Toyota, suffered unknown injuries. Paramedics eventually transported both patients to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for further treatment.
