OCEANSIDE, CA – Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Driver at Highway 76 and Douglas Drive

Pedestrian Dies in Oceanside Collision

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (December 17, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 76 at Douglas Drive.
 
Oceanside Police Sgt. Rick Davis said that according to witnesses and evidence at the crash site, the pedestrian was said to be crossing Highway 76 from north to south against a red traffic light and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, whose driver had a green light.
 
The driver, who was not hurt, stopped at the scene and waited for officers to arrive. Police officers do not suspect the driver was impaired by alcohol or drugs.
 
The identity of the victim was not released to the public.
