4-Year-Old Killed after Car Runs Red Light at Somersville Road and Delta Fair Boulevard Intersection
ANTIOCH, CA (January 17, 2018) – Officials reported a fatal car accident on the Somersville Road and Delta Fair Boulevard intersection near Highway 4 and the Somersvile Town Center, around 1 PM on Wednesday.
Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff spotted a car around 12:47 PM, that was reported stolen that same morning. The deputy followed the white Ford F250 pickup truck onto Highway 4, not turning on his emergency lights for safety. The man in the stolen truck then exited Somersville Road and accelerated, running a red light and crashing into a grey Ford pickup truck.
Occupants of the second truck were a mother and her two daughter, ages two and four. All three victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The four-year-old girl was reported dead around 10:12 that same evening, according to authorities.
The 23-year-old man from Pittsburg, Noe Saucedo, was arrested and taken to jail after being treated at the hospital. He is charged with one count of murder and two counts of felony; his bail is $1,050,000.
Somersville Road was closed in both directions near the Highway 4 underpass for several hours, as authorities investigated and cleared the road of debri from the crash.
