SACRAMENTO, CA (April 29, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, three people died in a rear-end crash on Highway 99 near Elverta Road.
 
At about 2:30 p.m., a sedan traveled in the northbound lanes of Highway 99. Then, an SUV rear-ended the sedan. Afterward, a 30-foot box truck rear-ended the sedan for the second time.
 
According to reports, a 67-year-old Antelope resident, Nitya Raju, drove the sedan. Also, a 68-year-old passenger, Masla Mani, from Sacramento, and a 62-year-old Fiji woman rode with him.
 
All three of them succumbed to injuries at the scene. Even so, the identity of the third party, the Fiji woman, is still unknown.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t confirmed whether the SUV occupants suffered any injury.
 
The deceased remained stuck in the sedan by 3:30 p.m.
 
Also, the officers shut down the area for several hours.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal Sacramento crash.
 
However, the authorities do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in the deadly accident.
