Nicole Newbold Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Highway 99 Near South Avenue
DELHI, CA (April 22, 2019) – A woman was found dead in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near South Avenue.
The Merced California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the hit-and-run driver who left a woman for dead.
According to officers, Nicole Stefanie Newbold was found lying face down on the southbound shoulder of Highway 99 on April 13. Crews pronounced the 30-year-old woman dead shortly after and believe she died from blunt force trauma.
In the investigation, authorities concluded that a hit-and-run driver struck her and left her with grave injuries. Next to her body, investigators uncovered a broken passenger side mirror matching a 2006 to 2009 Honda Civic.
In addition, investigators believe the Honda Civic may have sustained passenger side windshield and passenger side pillar damage.
