San Marcos Police Investigates Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 35
San Marcos, TX (September 1, 2023) On Friday morning, 2 people died after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35.
Authorities say that the fatal accident happened at about 7 a.m. on Interstate 35, the collision involved 4 passenger vehicles and one tractor-trailer.
Reports say that the driver of a northbound GMC pickup while changing lanes struck a big rig, then hit a Ford Ranger pickup. The impact of the crash overturned the GMC and sent the pickup onto the opposite lane and collided with a minivan. Meanwhile, the Ford pickup was struck again by a northbound BMW.
A passenger on the GMC died at the scene, while the driver of the minivan was transported to a hospital in Kyle, where the driver died.
Officials say that the other occupants escaped injuries.
