Union City, CA (August 14, 2023) – Monday afternoon, one person died in a crash on Whipple Road involving a motorcycle and a van.

The fatal crash happened around 2:50 p.m. on August 14.

Union City police said the collision involved a van and a motorcycle.

One person died at the crash scene. That person was riding on the back of the motorcycle when the crash happened.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital where police said they were in stable condition Tuesday.

The driver of the van remained on the scene and cooperated with officers.
