Reckless Driving Seen as Cause of Ramona Fatal Motorcycle Crash
RAMONA, CA (May 2, 2019) – A male motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle collision on San Vicente Road early Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities received dispatch calls shortly before 1:00 p.m. First responders arrived near Vista Vince Drive soon after.
According to reports, the motorcyclist was headed east on San Vicente Road, on his 2001 Yamaha R-1 at a high speed. He then struck the driver’s side of a 2018 Lincoln sport utility vehicle for unknown reasons.
CHP public affairs Officer Jeff Christy said the victim died on scene despite the efforts of motorists and paramedics to resuscitate him. His name was not immediately available.
According to witnesses, the rider was doing wheelies and veering dangerously around slower-moving eastbound vehicles just prior to the crash. He was seen wearing a helmet.
