Rider Killed in Echo Park Motorcycle Accident
ECHO PARK, CA (April 11, 2019) – A man died in Wednesday’s motorcycle crash on the 2 Freeway near Glendale Boulevard.
According to reports, the deadly event happened just after 2 p.m. on the southbound side of the 2 Freeway.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said the motorcyclist, who remains unidentified, died shortly after hitting a guard rail. No other injuries were reported.
As a result of the collision, commuters faced two-lane closures on the southbound lanes of the freeway for more than two hours.
According to investigators, it is unclear at this point what caused the motorcyclist to plow into the guardrail. However, an ongoing investigation concerning this matter is underway.
