Truck and Motorcycle Involved in Fatal Collision near Rancho Del Oro
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 8, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Oceanside Boulevard on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Rancho Del Oro around 2:20 PM. Emergency Personnel arrived on Oceanside Boulevard shortly after.
Reports later showed that a truck tried to make an illegal left turn onto the road from the El Corazon Compost facility when it struck a motorcycle.
The motorcycle was driven by a 53-year-old man from Oceanside. An attending coroner pronounced the rider deceased at the scene as a result of the impact.
Moreover, the driver of the truck was later arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter. However, an investigation is on-going at this time.
The surrounding area on Oceanside Boulevard was closed off for preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
