Motorcyclist Dead, Passenger Injured in Fallbrook Car Crash on 15 Freeway
FALLBROOK, CA (October 21, 2019) — A motorcyclist died following a car crash on 15 Freeway near Pala Mesa on Saturday, October 19.
Officials with the North County Fire Department stated that the accident happened near 15 Freeway and Highway 76 merger.
At around 6:20 p.m., a teenager from Temecula with two passengers in a 2010 Honda Pilot drove along eastbound Highway 76. The driver attempted to turn onto northbound 15 Freeway. However, he collided into 2008 Harley-Davidson approaching the intersection from westbound Highway 76.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the impact ejected both the motorcyclist and his female passenger from the vehicle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, Officer Kevin Smale with CHP stated. The 43-year-old woman who rode with him was brought to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of her injuries.
Neither the driver of the Honda Pilot nor his passengers sustained injuries in the incident. Smale said alcohol and drugs were not considered to be a factor in the collision.
The car crash on 15 Freeway is under investigation Saturday night.
