1 Hospitalized after Motorcycle Collision near Olive Drive in Davis

DAVIS, CA (April 21, 2020) – Last Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on 80 Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol say the incident occurred on 80 Freeway near the Olive Drive off-ramp.

According to reports, the motorcycle rider was traveling in the westbound lanes when he collided with a dark-gray 2017 GMC Terrain pulling a red trailer.

Medics located the rider lying down on the road. Emergency responders later transported the seriously injured motorcyclist to an area hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, a towing service was also called to the scene to remove the damaged bike.

The surrounding area on 80 Freeway was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, authorities are still conducting an active investigation to identify the cause of the collision.

Practicing defensive driving habits can help to prevent dangerous accidents such as these. Always check your blind spots twice before changing lanes, and never try to cut off a motorcycle. Maneuvering around a speeding bike can easily cause an accident. Keep your eyes on the road and avoid distractions.
