Rider Hospitalized after San Pedro Car Accident on Pacific Avenue

 
SAN PEDRO, CA (June 8, 2019) – Saturday night, a motorcyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Pacific Avenue.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash happened around 9:35 PM near 17th Street. An unknown vehicle hit the motorcyclist and then fled the scene without rendering aid. As a result, another car struck the rider. However, the cause of the incident is currently unknown at this time.
 
A pair of cousins heard the crash. When they arrived at the scene, they found the rider underneath the car.
 
The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived shortly after. Authorities transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation. However, his current medical condition is not released.
 
However, the second driver stayed on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
 
The avenue closed for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene, but reopened shortly after. Police did not release any other information at this time. An investigation is still ongoing to determine further details.
