Monterey Road Big-Rig Collision Kills Woman [San Jose, CA]

San Jose, CA (June 25, 2022) On Thursday, a woman died in a pedestrian vs big-rig collision on Monterey Road.

San Jose police say that a Big-Rig fatally struck a female pedestrian at around 1:44 p.m. while walking at the connector from Monterey Road to Capitol Expressway.

Reports say the woman was on a crosswalk but crossed against a red light, as a semi-truck was turning with the lights green on its side.

Officials pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Moreover, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office is pending her formal identification and notification of her next of kin.

Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Additionally, police say that there is no indication of impairment.
