Two-Car Collision Ends in Injuries in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (February 22, 2019) – Four people, including two children, were sent to a hospital following a head-on collision on Santa Fe Drive near East Hatch Road.
The two-vehicle crash happened when a 2000 GMC pickup truck was heading eastbound on Santa Fe Drive. For unknown reasons, the driver allowed the vehicle to cross into the westbound lane and crash head-on with a 2011 Ford Escape. The impact caused the Ford to overturn off the roadway and the pickup truck came to a rest, blocking both lanes of traffic.
The 30-year-old woman in the Ford was shuttled to a Modesto area hospital with cuts to her face and arms, and a 2-year-old boy and 6-month-old boy were also taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons. The Turlock driver reportedly suffered a broken ankle and was taken to an area hospital, as well.
Investigators are trying to determine what was the reason behind the crash.
