Misael Deanda of Gustine Killed in Collision on Highway 36 [Comanche County, TX]

Comanche County (November 3, 2023) – Misael Deanda, 27, of Gustine, and Irvin Vazquez, 23, of Mexico, were both killed following a vehicle collision on Highway 36 Sunday.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at 3:30 a.m. five miles northwest of Gustine.

Investigators said that a pickup truck driven by Vazquez was southeast on the freeway.

As a result of rain, wet conditions, and possible intoxication, Vazquez lost control of the vehicle. The pickup truck swerved off the lane and struck the endcap of a guardrail on the right side. 

The vehicle continued south through an embankment and slammed into a tree.

Misael Deanda, the passenger, and Irvin Vazquez, the driver, were killed on the scene of the crash. 

The accident report said neither of them wore a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Officers are investigating.
