At Least 1 Hurt Following Mountain View Accident
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (December 13, 2019) — At least one person suffered minor injuries when two work trucks plowed into an abandoned vehicle in a Highway 101 DUI crash near San Antonio Road Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. but might have stemmed minutes prior.
Authorities believe a 25-year-old driver operating a red vehicle slammed into the center divider while traveling north on the highway. The driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle before the two work trucks rammed into it.
Because the driver had been standing outside of the red car, he or she escaped severe injury but did not escape an arrest, as officers detained him or her for DUI.
As a result of the accident, at least one person suffered minor injuries, both directions of travel resulted in a closure, and the abandoned vehicle sustained considerable damage.
