Byron Saucedo Arrested in Moreno Valley Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision
Moreno Valley, CA (July 20, 2022) – Yesterday, at about 6:40 p.m., Mikela Lang, a 33-year-old motorcyclist from Moreno Valley died in a DUI crash on Filaree Avenue.
According to the authorities, Byron Saucedo, 23, was driving his eastbound 2010 Nissan Altima on Filaree Avenue.
The traffic signal at the intersection with Perris Avenue turned red.
Saucedo failed to stop and drove into the intersection. At the same time, Lang went through it the intersection, southbound on Perris Avenue on her 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650.
“The Kawasaki motorcycle collided with the Nissan’s driver side, causing the rider to be ejected forward from the motorcycle,” an officer says.
Mikela Lang was thrown into the roadway.
Moreover, Saucedo stepped out of his vehicle and attempted to run away. Luckily, the witnesses stopped and physically restrained him until the authorities arrived.
The paramedics immediately arrived at the scene and declared Mikela Lang dead.
Furthermore, the investigators say that Saucedo was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when the collision took place.
The authorities arrested Byron Saucedo and booked him into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter with intoxication and hit-and-run resulting in great bodily injury with a bail of $75,000.
