Michel Medina Injured, Usbaldo Estrada Arrested after DUI Car Accident on Vivian Road [Modesto, CA]

Kids Injured in Modesto DUI Car Crash

 
MODESTA, CA (March 31, 2019) – Eight people were injured Sunday afternoon in a DUI car accident on Vivian Road.
 
The crash was reported before 1:30 PM at the intersection of West Grayson Road and Vivian Road in the southwest area of Modesto.
 
California Highway Patrol identified the two drivers involved as 29-year-old Michel Medina and 23-year-old Usbaldo Santos Estrada. Medina was driving a 2008 Saturn Outlook westbound on Grayson Road approaching Vivian Road. Estrada was driving a 1994 Mazda B4000 Patterson northbound on Vivian Road when he ran the stop sign and collided with the Saturn on the left side. Due to the collision, Estrada’s vehicle overturned and Medina was forced off the road into the metal fencing.
 
Four ambulances and two helicopters transported all occupants to hospitals. In addition, Medina was critically injured. Her passengers included 3-year-old Hugo Medina and 2-year-old Adrian Medina. The children were flown to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
 
Also injured in the accident were Santos Estrada’s passengers: Ricardo Ordaz, 29, of Hughson suffered minor injuries; Ashley Garcia, 26, of Waterford, suffered minor injuries; Reyna Zamora, 18, of Patterson, suffered major injuries; Claudia Hernandez, 18, of Patterson, suffered minor injuries. All were transported to area hospitals.
 
Estrada was transported to Doctors Medical Center. After being released he placed under arrest for weapon related charges and suspicion of driving under the influence. However, he did not appear to have been booked into jail.
 
No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
