Michael Dever Pronounced Dead in Auto Crash on 710 Freeway in Bell Gardens
Bell Gardens, CA (May 5, 2020)– Early morning on Tuesday, 39-year-old Michael Dever died in a pedestrian accident on the southbound 710 Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol responded upon receiving crash reports at around 2:10 a.m. on May 5.
Dispatched officers arrived and found the Bell Gardens man down on the scene.
Reportedly, officers responded to the crash between the exits for Florence and Firestone avenues and found Mr. Dever down in the No. 3 lane of the freeway.
According to a witness, the pedestrian was running on the right side of the freeway before the accident. Then the witness dragged Dever to the side of the road after the accident.
However, events leading up to the accident remain unspecified, even though CHP interviewed the 42-year-old driver that struck Dever.
Authorities later confirmed Michael Dever’s identity, and they are still maintaining that alcohol was not a factor in the unfortunate collision.
Furthermore, officers closed the three southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway with traffic getting by only in the No. 4 lane. However, it has since reopened.
