Driver Hospitalized After Motorcycle Crash on Catalina Highway in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (May 13, 2024) – On Friday, 21-year-old Mia Valencia died in a motorcycle crash on Catalina Highway.
In a news release, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported that the motorcycle was traveling south on Catalina Highway around 8:30 p.m. when it hit a guardrail during a turn at milepost 5.
The motorcycle’s driver sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.
The passenger, 21-year-old Mia Valencia, was thrown from the motorcycle and landed down an embankment, where she died at the scene, according to the news release.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
