Fatal Whittier Car Accident Leaves Mayra Zarate and James Espinosa Dead
Whittier, CA (November 2, 2020) – On Sunday, 27-year-old Mayra Zarate and 28-year-old James Espinosa, both from El Monte, died in a crash on Beverly Boulevard.
Moreover, the Whittier accident happened at 3:31 a.m. near the intersection with Norwalk Boulevard.
Immediately, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene.
A black sedan was speeding westbound on Beverly Boulevard when its driver lost control near the intersection. As a result, it struck some parked vehicles northbound on Norwalk Boulevard.
The black sedan was at that point occupied by two men and two women.
Additionally, it is not known where the car carrying Zarate and Espinosa was when it was hit by the sedan.
When crews arrived, they pronounced one person dead.
Subsequently, the rescuers worked to free another from a vehicle. At the same time, they rushed the other individual to a local trauma center at 3:53 A.M.
At 4:21 a.m., county fire officials revealed that a total of two people died in the accident. One was injured and being treated at a hospital, while a second ambulance was requested for a fourth person, whose condition was unknown.
