Two Injured, Matthew Peasly Killed in Auburn Crash
Auburn, WA (November 12, 2021) – On Tuesday, two drivers suffered injuries while 39-year-old Matthew Peasly, of Lakewood, died, in a wrong-way crash on State Route 18.
The fatal crash took place at about 4:50 p.m. near Southeast 304th Street.
Officers said Peasly was driving east on the westbound lanes and struck the front left of a Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota’s driver stopped and called 911.
Meanwhile, Peasly continued driving in the wrong direction and struck another vehicle in lane two. The driver of the vehicle Peasly struck stopped in its lane facing the wrong direction.
Peasly’s car rested in a ditch on the left shoulder.
Unfortunately, Peasly died at the scene.
Moreover, the second vehicle’s driver, a 54-year-old male from Milton sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the first vehicle Peasly struck, a 54-year-old Bonney Lake man, also sustained injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal incident.
