Motorcycle Crash on Foothill Freeway Leaves Matthew Hathaway Dead
Irwindale, CA (October 10, 2020) – On Friday, 30-year-old Matthew Hathaway died in a motorcycle crash on the 210 Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident was reported at about 2:40 p.m. at Irwindale Avenue.
Later reports concluded that Mr. Hathaway could not stop in time in front of a halted Tesla.
Therefore, he was ejected from his bike in the collision, and landed in the No. 3 Lane.
As a result, a big rig struck the motorcyclist.
A big rig pulled over to the side of the freeway near the Irwindale crash, CHP said.
Paramedics pronounced Matthew Hathaway, a resident of La Verne, dead at the scene at 2:54 p.m.
The authorities closed four eastbound lanes of the freeway due to the crash. All lanes were reopened by 6:10 PM.
