Mary Lo-Wong Struck, Killed by Airport Employee Driver on Airport Boulevard at Mineta San Jose International Airport
SAN JOSE, CA (March 6, 2019) – A 62-year-old airline worker lost her life in last month’s pedestrian accident at Mineta San Jose International Airport on Airport Boulevard.
When police responded to the scene around 1:11 p.m. on Feb. 25, they found a seriously injured pedestrian. The victim was at the bottom level of Parking Garage 3 across from Terminal B.
A 2018 Ford F-150, driven by a 29-year-old man, struck Mary Lo-Wong as it passed southbound through the entrance gates. Lo-Wong, of San Jose, suffered life-threatening injuries after trying to push a luggage cart through the parking lot.
According to news reports, due to the severity of her injuries, she died Thursday.
The driver has yet to be identified, but reports described the person as an airport employee. The employee remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigators. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible factors in the crash.
