Marvin Bray Dies After Mortuary Van T-Boned by Car on East Palmdale Boulevard and Sierra Highway
PALMDALE, CA (November 28, 2018) – A 59-year-old Palmdale man perished Monday in a broadside crash while riding in a mortuary van on East Palmdale Boulevard at Sierra Highway.
Marvin Bray was a passenger in the mortuary van that was transporting a body to a funeral home around 11:50 p.m. that Monday.
According to authorities, the mortuary van was heading southbound on Sierra Highway and entered the intersection in an attempt to make a left-hand turn onto East Palmdale Boulevard when the passenger side was struck by silver Kia, driven by a 23-year-old man who ran a red light.
The impact caused the mortuary van to overturn and eject 59-year-old Bray from the cabin.
The van’s driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition while the Kia driver suffered serious injuries and was also hospitalized.
The liabilities and details of this crash are still under investigation by authorities.
