Fatal Two-Vehicle Wreck in Martinez
MARTINEZ, CA (December 27, 2018) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 4 near Cummings Skyway Tuesday morning.
Authorities are trying to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the collision around 10:43 a.m. just north of Highway 4.
CHP reported that a Ford sedan drifted off the road and onto the dirt shoulder before it overcorrected into oncoming traffic. The passenger side of the Ford crashed into a Nissan Xterra, killing the Nissan driver and hospitalizing the Ford driver with major injuries.
