Daniel Martiniez and Others Injured in Okanogan County Vehicle Collision
Okanogan County, WA (June 5, 2022) – On Friday afternoon, Martin Aguilar, 22, lost his life in a rear-end crash on State Route 17.
According to the investigators, Tonya Turner, 48, was driving a gray 2013 Dodge Grand mini van. Reports say Turner rear ended a silver 1999 Mazda Protege Sedan driven by Daniel Martiniez, 27, as he was turning left onto Jack Wells Road off State Route 17.
Unfortunately, one of Pio’s passengers, Martin Aguilar died at the crash scene.
Moreover, the paramedics took Turner, Pio, and his passengers Roberto Aguilar, 22, and Eduardo Saucedo, 33, Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster.
Later on, they airlifted Tinoco to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee due to the severity of his injuries.
Meanwhile, Washington State Patrol Public Information Officer Jeremy Weber say distracted driving possibly played a role in the accident. “The passenger vehicle was trying to take a left onto Jack Wells Road, and upon doing that, the causing driver, which was a mini van, then collided into that vehicle.”
Weber added the fatal collision is under investigation. “There was a fatality involved, and the road was blocked for approximately three hours,” he said. “Everything is still under investigation.” Charges are pending against Turner.
No alcohol or drugs were involved.
