Parlier High School NJROTC Teacher Dies in Motorcycle Crash at Manning and Maple Avenues
FRESNO, CA (August 13, 2019) – The motorcyclist killed in a deadly crash Tuesday morning has been identified as Parlier High School NJROTC teacher, Chief Warrant Officer Mark Bristol, 54.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Manning Avenue and Maple Avenue.
According to the CHP, a Jeep was traveling west on Manning and making a left turn onto Maple and did not see the oncoming motorcycle.
The driver of the Jeep turned in front the motorcycle traveling east on Manning. The motorcycle did not have time to stop and hit the side of the Jeep, ejecting the rider.
Arriving emergency crews attempted life-saving aid to rider, but the victim died at the scene.
There were three people in the Jeep. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Manning Avenue was closed between Maple and Chestnut until before 8:00 a.m. for the on-scene investigation.
