NORWALK, CA (November 28, 2018) – A 79-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist on Nov. 21 on Pioneer Boulevard near Lindale Street.
According to Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner Lt. Larry Dietz, Marilyn Joy Haight died at the hospital shortly after being hit by a motorist around 5 p.m.
News reports say Haight was making a last-minute Thanksgiving run at a grocery store. Upon leaving the grocery store with grocery bags in hand, she began crossing Pioneer Boulevard, eastbound, near Lindale Street. A vehicle, described as a blue compact car, was heading northbound on Pioneer Boulevard and struck Haight, who stepped into northbound traffic after reaching the concrete island.

Haight remained unidentified until Thanksgiving Day when her family was concerned about her whereabouts and contacted the Norwalk Station.
