1 Hospitalized after Chain-Reaction Crash near El Jaro Creek Bridge
LOMPOC, CA (November 14, 2018) – A woman was injured Wednesday afternoon following a chain-reaction crash near El Jaro Creek Bridge. The victim was later identified as Marilyn Bravo, a resident of Lompoc.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 1, at approximately 2:45 PM. A 2003 Toyota Tundra, driven by Salvador Garcia of Lompoc, was unable to stop and rear-ended a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was operated by Bravo.
Due to the impact of the collision, the Corolla was pushed onto the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet, which then hit a 2018 Honda Accord driven by Joseph Gonzales. The Honda then slammed into a 2003 Honda Civic driven by Kyle Mrazek of Garden Grove.
All drivers were unharmed except for Bravo, who complained of pain in her chest and back. She was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Further updates on her current medical condition were not provided.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the collision, which remains under investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
