Maria Reynoso Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Motorist, Brandon Mazariego, at South Budlong Avenue and West 28th Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 21, 2018) – A 77-year-old woman was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver at South Budlong Avenue and West 28th Street on Nov. 13.
The deadly incident that claimed Maria Reynoso‘s life happened around 7:30 a.m. Reynoso, 77, was crossing Budlong Avenue at West 28th Street when she was struck by a white Nissan Armada, whose driver was attempting a left turn onto 28th Street.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid, leaving Reynoso with grave injuries. She was transferred to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Brandon Rosendo Mazariego was arrested two days later after authorities identified his white Nissan Armada with the help of surveillance footage and USC police. Rosendo, who was on probation for burglary and holds a criminal record for a suspended license, was on his way back home after dropping off his kids.
Reynoso was remembered for her charismatic storytelling and sense of humor, says her family.
