1 Dead in Brownsville Traffic Crash on Honeydale and Lewis Street

BROWNSVILLE, TX (April 18, 2023) – Saturday morning, Marco Antonio Presario died in a tragic accident on Honeydale and Lewis Street.

Reports said that Presario traveled southbound in a Nissan 350 just before 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Honeydale and Lewis Street.

Officers revealed that the Nissan was conducting controlled skids and drifting on the roadway. Then, Adrian Erasmo Zapata driving the Dodge tried to pass the Nissan and was hit by it.

As a result, Presario lost control of his Nissan and hit a tree. The impact partially ejected his passenger, Pablo Steven Zavala, from the car.

Meanwhile, Presario succumbed to injuries at the scene and Zavala was taken to a local hospital with serious but stable injuries.

Zapata was also taken to a hospital for his injuries.

Officers confirmed that they retrieved a six-pack of Jack Daniels mixed drinks in the Charger with four of the drinks missing.

Thus, they took Zapata into custody after being released from the hospital. Then, the authorities charged him with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

He was arraigned Saturday and received a bond of $130,000.
