Man Hospitalized after Hit by Vehicle on Pacific Highway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 02, 2019) – A 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle on Pacific Highway in Midtown Thursday night.
The San Diego police said the crash occurred in the 3900 block of Pacific Highway at about 11:15 p.m. The area is just north of the San Diego International Airport.
The officers said the man’s car broke down while he was driving northbound in the far right lane on Pacific Highway. The man got out of his vehicle. He subsequently began pushing it when he saw a vehicle headed north in the far right lane.
The man jumped to the left in an attempt to move away from his own vehicle. At the same time, the other driver swerved to the left to avoid hitting the broken down vehicle.
The northbound vehicle missed the victim’s disabled vehicle. However, it still hit the man as he attempted to jump out of the way.
The victim sustained a head injury described as non-life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
However, the police are investigating the crash. They said it appeared that intoxication was not a factor.
