OROVILLE, CA (February 10, 2020) – A vehicle struck and injured a man on Veatch Street in Oroville on February 7.

At about 11:44 a.m., a man started to cross Veatch Street at Mitchell Avenue. He then got hit by a northbound Ford Focus, Officer Breck Wright of the Oroville Police Department revealed.

Responders took the man to the Oroville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wright added that when paramedics arrived, they extricated the pedestrian from the hood of the car.

The crash remains under investigation, and the police did not arrest anyone. Authorities also ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.

“We never want a collision, but we also don’t ever want people driving under the influence,” Wright added.

Staying within your respective lane on the street is an extremely important rule of the road. If you feel yourself drifting into other lanes due to fatigue or any other reason, safely pull over and rest before continuing your drive. You can also call a friend or an Uber to pick you up if you feel like it would be unsafe to drive.
