Pedestrian Struck, Injured by Driver in Santee
SANTEE, CA (May 8, 2019) – A hit-and-run pedestrian accident on North Magnolia Avenue at Riverview Parkway left a man injured Tuesday.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Chris Steffen, callers reported the incident around 5 a.m.
Reports say a 32-year-old man exited a car following a contentious argument with his brother and his brother’s friend.
The brother tried following the man on North Magnolia Avenue in an attempt to get him back in the vehicle. However, as the men were talking, a northbound vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
The unidentified victim suffered serious head trauma, which required treatment at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Although the driver fled the scene, the person arrived 30 minutes later in a different car.
Police arrested the driver on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and are investigating whether impairment played a role.
