Man Hospitalized After Multiple Hit-And-Runs on First Street and Flower Street
Santa Ana, CA (June 17, 2020) – On Monday, a pedestrian was injured after consecutive hit-and-runs on First Street in Santa Ana.
The incident happened at around 1:26 a.m. at the intersection of First Street and Flower street.
Rescuers found a male pedestrian down in the roadway, showing signs of being struck by multiple vehicles.
Immediately, paramedics treated the victim at the scene and rushed him to an area trauma center in critical condition.
Reports indicated the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when he was hit by several vehicles moving eastbound on First Street.
However, none of the drivers that hit the man stopped to help him.
Also, no description of the involved vehicles are available. Hence, authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby establishments.
As always, it is crucial to stay focus while driving. Simple rules as keeping the right speed, and not using your phone while driving could really save lives.
The Aftermath of Severe Hit-And-Run Accidents
In today’s current state of affairs, walking outside has increased in commonality. At the same time, pedestrian accidents, like the hit-and-run on First Street, have also spiked in popularity.
While car accidents are far more common than pedestrian accidents, there is still reason to be wary when traveling on foot. “Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as motor vehicle accidents, but the pedestrian accidents tend to include more serious injuries,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers. “Some of the worst pedestrian incidents involve minors because they are sometimes hard to see and they also ride bikes, skateboards, etc. Common locations for these pedestrian incidents include shopping center entrances and street corners.”
