PARKLAND, WA (June 14, 2021) – Saturday night, a man died and his wife suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Spanaway Loop Road South.
 
The incident occurred at about 11:20 p.m. in the 13100 block of Spanaway Loop Road South.
 
According to a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy, a 22-year-old man drove at a high speed. Then, he collided with the back of the victims’ car.
 
As a result, the 70-year-old male driver of the other vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, his 69-year-old wife was listed in critical condition.
 
Moreover, the authorities arrested the 22-year-old driver for a DUI. Then, they booked him into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
