Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Accident on State Route 78
Vista, CA (October 30, 2020) – On Friday, a pedestrian was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on State Route 78.
The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. near Melrose Drive.
A 23-year-old woman from Oceanside was driving a Hyundai Sonata when a man suddenly ran across the westbound lanes of State Route 78. As a result, the vehicle struck the man.
Immediately, the woman stopped her car and called 911.
Authorities believe more vehicles may have struck the pedestrian before the police or paramedics arrived.
The authorities pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim is still unidentified, though, he is believed to be in the 30s.
