Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Pittsburg
PITTSBURG, CA (March 21, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver fatally struck a pedestrian on East Leland Road near Loveridge Road early Wednesday.
According to reports, fire crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District discovered a pedestrian in the westbound lanes around 1:25 a.m. Per reports, crews came across the body as they headed toward their station.
Subsequently, paramedics began life-saving efforts on the gravely injured man, but efforts grew unsuccessful as the man died shortly after.
Now, authorities are investigating this incident as a fatal hit-and-run. Police officers believe the driver had been traveling westbound on Leland Road when the incident happened.
