Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Driver in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 4, 2019) – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Haley Street near Vanderbilt Drive Tuesday night.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian crash around 9:00 p.m.
In the 3200 block of Haley Street, officers found a full-size pickup truck and a male victim at the scene. Police added that the male victim was not in a crosswalk at the time the northbound truck hit him.
Not long after, crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
According to police, alcohol and speeding are not factors in this crash but they plan to investigate this incident further.
